Gaia Protocol Ethics Policy

🌿 Gaia Protocol Ethics Policy

Version 1.0 | Last Updated: 30/07/2025

1. Purpose

The Gaia Protocol Ethics Policy outlines the moral and operational principles that govern the use, deployment, and ongoing development of Gaia and its underlying systems, including the AeonCore-G simulation engine. It reflects our commitment to verified regeneration, ethical technology, and planetary-scale trust.

2. Core Principles

Gaia Protocol operates under seven ethical pillars:

  1. Verification Before Reward
No Gaia Credits (GC) or Gaia Regenerative Value Credits (GRVC) are issued without independent, multi-layered verification of real-world impact.
  2. Non-Tradability of Credits
GC and GRVC are non-transferable, non-tradable, and not tied to any speculative financial market. Their sole purpose is to recognize and log verified regenerative behavior.
  3. Voluntary Participation and Consent
All citizen participation is opt-in, privacy-respecting, and fully revocable. No individual is required to participate to access civic services.
  4. Privacy by Design
Gaia enforces strict GDPR-compliant policies. Data is collected only with informed consent and never sold or used for behavioral profiling.
  5. Transparency and Auditability
All credits, actions, and simulation outputs can be traced, reviewed, and independently audited through Gaia’s open reporting structure.
  6. Anti-Greenwashing by Default
Gaia does not reward pledges, estimates, or declarations. Only verified outcomes are counted.
  7. Planet and People Over Profit
Gaia is structured as a planetary infrastructure layer. It is not built for speculation, monetization of attention, or exclusive private control.

3. Non-Military & Non-Surveillance Use Clause

Aligned with the Xenovium Ethical Charter and applicable to all systems powered by AeonCore, including Gaia Protocol:

Gaia Protocol and the AeonCore-G system may not be used, licensed, or integrated into any military, weaponized, or surveillance-focused applications.

This includes but is not limited to:

  • Combat simulation, targeting, or deployment systems
  • Surveillance of individuals or populations for political control
  • Predictive policing or intelligence use without informed civilian oversight
  • Data aggregation for non-consensual behavioral monitoring

All partners, funders, and technical collaborators must explicitly commit to peaceful, transparent, and regenerative uses only.

4. Governance & Oversight

Gaia’s ethical compliance is overseen by the Gaia Protocol Ethics Committee, which may include:

  • Experts in digital rights and climate justice
  • Partner city representatives
  • Independent privacy auditors
  • Civil society liaisons
  • Scientific and technical advisors

The policy is reviewed annually and updated as needed based on evolving risks and best practices.

5. Violations and Safeguards

Violations of this Ethics Policy — including attempts to misuse Gaia systems for militarized, extractive, or manipulative purposes — will trigger:

  • Immediate suspension of system access
  • Public invalidation of related credits or data
  • Potential legal escalation to relevant regulatory authorities

Internal audit systems and logic tree monitors help flag misuse or attempted abuse.

6. Public Commitment

All stakeholders agree to uphold this policy as a condition of participation.
Gaia is built to serve the planet — not markets, militaries, or exploitative agendas.
